Case Study: New start-up business working from home.

We were approached by a new start-up online mail order company - although sales were mainly internet based they needed to offer a customer service telephone number. As the business was just starting up they were operating from a residential address but wanted to give the impression of a larger organisation. Their main issue was that calls for the business were received via their residential line.
As the number was for a customer service line, we suggested that they activate a low cost 0844 number. We placed a professional bespoke welcome message at the beginning of the call and added a call whisper service. 

         

 

The call whisper service was a recorded announcement that informed the company that the call was via the 0844 number. This allowed the company to differentiate between incoming business calls and personal calls, allowing them to answer appropriately, therefore leaving the caller unaware that the business was being operated from residential premises.
In addition to this, we also configured the number to only receive business calls during trading hours – outside of trading hours, all calls were sent to a recorded message giving the option to leave a voicemail message (any voicemail messages left would be immediately emailed to the business as an audio file).
